Brent a regular carp angler who had a personal best of 18lb 5oz, until one August morning, at white springs, where he more than doubled his personal best with two 30lb carp in one day.

The weather the last three weeks has been so unpredictable that it's made the fishing a challenge, as we've seen icy conditions, hard cold driving wind and flat mill pond conditions all in the space of a few days

The specimen lake has fished rather slow after Myrther's angler Brent's marathon fishing spree in which he landed 9 double figure fish to 23lb, whilst in the same session Llanelli's angler Martin was also into doubles in the top 20's

Brent gave his peg up for Llandeilo's angler Paul to land a 31lb 12oz off the same peg. Since the 31pounder has showed fishing has slowed on the lake due to the extreme weather changes, however  Dave Moor of Haverfordwest this week put in a tremendous start to the 2006 season on his first day out since October 2005, he landed in a day session three carp at 26lb, 22lb 4oz and a 6lb, off peg 8

The match and pleasure anglers have also suffered with weather changes, however Sunday 22nd just gone saw a huge improvement on the week before, Lee Werrey of Ebbw Vale had come 1st last week but only managed 2nd place this week with a 48lb bag

 White Springs was featured in the Angling Times Magazine, Martin Bowler fished for Perch and wrote an article. After his report back to head office Martin's mate Dave Taylor tried his luck for some big Perch his best of the session being 3lb 13oz, Dave had a colleague fishing with him who couldn't catch any perch but he never blanked as he caught some nice carp
