The hendy pool committee have recently launched a brand new communitee magazine called both sides read evening post report here The committee have just won a grant from C.A.V.S which is going to be used to develop new web sites for Hendy Pool and Both Sides.
Recently the campaign to save Hendy Pool has been very active.There was the carnival day in 2006 which had two floats and a stall at the field supporting.

Gwyn Jones of Iscoed Road has been to this lido and discussed their sucessfull lottery bid.
Glouster has just won lottery funding and one of their committee members has promised to help Hendy with advice on how to put together a successfull lottery bid.

Tony Polverino landlord of the Red Lion,
has joined the Hendy Pool committee, Tony and myself organised a fundraising weekend on Saturday and Sunday August 12th and 13th, with amazing results. £5,200 was raised over the two days.

Three tribute acts did the show over two days led by Red Mick the uk's ultimate tribute act to Simply Red. He has sung all around the UK visit his web site here to listen to some of his tracks he's sung
The organising of the event saw a huge support over 130 local companies and individuals have already pledged their support from llanelli, gorseinon, morriston, tycroes, swansea.
As Red Mick one of the tribute acts said quote "It would be awesome if the local people save the pool in time for it's 75th Anniversery, built by the community saved by the community, it would be nice if the county council did save the pool but if you are honest, if we wait the council we will miss this historic event"

This is the second time that the village has rallied around to save its pool here
This year's fundraising raised £4,900 in two days here

On 11th October Vernon Hicks of Iscoed Road presented the petition of 2800 signatures to the full council of Carmarthen County Council. Read the evening post here
Vernon Hicks told councillors that the committee could save them money and the pool committee wanted value for money here
